Art classes, open studio or Creative Time: what should you choose in Tunis?

Why was the Lik’Art arts centre created? This place was born from a simple observation: many people want to create, learn or practise an artistic activity, but do not always find a place or a formula suited to their needs, their level or their availability.

Some want to follow regular classes in painting or ceramics. Others already master several techniques and are mainly looking for an equipped space where they can work freely. Others still would simply like to give themselves a few hours of creativity, without committing to regular sessions.

The centre was therefore imagined as an open, friendly and inspiring creative space, where everyone can find a way of creating that suits them, while evolving in an environment shared with other people passionate about the visual arts.

The three formulas at a glance

Regular classes to learn and progress

The regular painting and drawing or ceramics classes are for those who want to learn step by step, develop their techniques and move forward in their practice with guidance. Session after session, participants progress, discover new possibilities and share their experiences in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

The Co-Art Space: an equipped studio for independent practice

Alongside these classes, the Co-Art Space answers the needs of people who already know how to practise independently, but do not always have the space, materials or equipment they need at home.

This difficulty is particularly true in ceramics. It can be complicated to find a place to fire your pieces, or to transport them without damage, especially while they are still fragile or after glazing. The Co-Art Space lets you work on site, in a suitable environment, with a regular access formula adapted to your needs.

It also means you don’t have to practise alone. Everyone can move forward on their own project while enjoying the presence of other creators. Conversations arise naturally around a technique, an idea, a difficulty or a work in progress. This closeness between people who share the same interests makes the practice more enjoyable and often more inspiring.

An evolving place that turns into a gallery

The centre was also designed to be an evolving space, able to adapt to the different projects that come to life there. Depending on the needs, it can turn into an exhibition gallery to showcase the creations made on site or the work of guest artists. This versatility makes a real artistic journey possible: from learning to creating, then to exhibiting and, when the opportunity arises, to selling the works. Visitors discover the artists’ work in the very place where it was born, while creators can share their world and meet their audience.

Creative Time: flexible formulas, no commitment

For people who cannot commit to a weekly class, the centre offers more flexible formulas and a wide choice of creative activities. Ceramic painting can be done freely — simply let the centre know you are coming, so the materials and space can be prepared in the best conditions.

The Creative Time formula lets you, by reservation, paint a small canvas in three hours, give shape to an idea in clay, paint a tote bag, make a dreamcatcher or discover paper-napkin collage.

Create a unique gift, alone or as a group

These creations can be made for the simple pleasure of giving yourself a creative moment, but also to design a unique, personal gift. Offering an object you imagined, shaped or decorated yourself gives the present a very special value, since it carries an intention, time and a part of the person who created it.

The activities can also be adapted to corporate team buildings and to groups, for a birthday or a bachelorette party for example. You can offer the experience itself, or come and create together around a shared project. Each participant can choose and personalise an object — a tote bag, a small canvas, a dreamcatcher or a ceramic piece that will be painted then fired at the centre before being offered to the person being celebrated. A friendly way to share a creative moment while preparing a personal, lasting memory.

Activities by appointment, at your own pace

The workshops organised on fixed dates do not always match everyone’s availability. It often happens that an activity attracts a lot of interest, but some people cannot take part because of various constraints. So that everyone can enjoy these activities, several of them can be organised by appointment. This flexibility lets you choose a better moment to come and create, alone, with friends or with family.

A space to unwind and create without pressure

The centre welcomes people with very different profiles and wishes. Some come to learn and progress, others to keep practising freely, and others still to discover a one-off activity or simply spend a pleasant moment.

Many are also looking for a way to unwind and step back from everyday stress. Painting, sculpting or making an object helps you slow down and focus on gestures, colours and materials, far from screens and daily worries.

There is no need to seek perfection or to want to become an artist. The pleasure of creating with your hands, experimenting and gradually watching a piece appear already brings great satisfaction.
